1. Who We Are

Charing Cross Corporation (doing business as “Takeourtours” and referred to in these terms as “Takeourtours”, “we”, “our”, “us”) is a California corporation, with offices located at 2995 Woodside Road Suite 400, Woodside California, 94062, USA. Takeourtours operates a service that enables users to research, find, and book travel experiences worldwide. Takeourtours’ services are made available through Takeourtours.com (and related domains and our affiliated websites around the world as well as Applications and telephone services).

Takeourtours’ products and services are made available through Takeourtours.com and Takeourtours-affiliated websites around the world as well as Takeourtours Applications.

Takeourtours.com (together with other Takeourtours-branded websites) is our flagship website, where we make available our complete range of products and services directly to consumers.
At Takeourtours we also work with hundreds of affiliates who distribute our products and services to consumers through their individual websites and via a Takeourtours widget embedded on their third-party websites. We typically host our affiliates’ product-information and booking pages, and manage payment and credit card information.
We also work with distributors (as discussed below) who manage the hosting, purchase and payment for our suppliers’ products and services.
If you provide personal data directly to our affiliates, distributors or suppliers, the terms of their respective privacy policies will apply to such disclosures. You should carefully review the privacy policies of the affiliate partner, distributor or supplier prior to providing personal data to such third parties. 2. Collection of your personal data

In the course of our business, we collect and process personal data in different ways. We may collect personal data you give us directly but we also collect data by logging how you interact with our services, for example by using cookies on this website. We may also receive personal data from third parties.

The personal data we collect about you may include, but is not limited to: your name, email address, postal address, phone number, billing information, survey responses, reservation details and other information you may provide about yourself to our site, your IP address and web browser software.

If you do not provide personal data when purchasing one of our supplier’s products or services, we cannot confirm your purchase or facilitate your booking. In some instances we may also ask for travel documentation, such as passports, demographic data, including your country of residence, gender, age, travel habits, etc.

Information about others: You may have the opportunity to provide contact and travel-related information for other people through our websites. If you “Refer a Friend” or if you purchase products or services for someone else through Takeourtours, you will need to submit that individual’s personal data. You must obtain the consent of other individuals prior to providing us with their personal data.

Information from Other Sources: We also may periodically obtain personal data about you from affiliated entities, business partners and other independent third-party sources and add it to other information about you. For example, if you visit Takeourtours by “clicking through” from a site operated by one of our business partners, and you have registered with that partner, then personal data about you that you have provided to that partner may be shared with us, such as contact information and demographic information. Automatic Information: We automatically collect certain information from your computer or mobile device when you visit Takeourtours.com or any of our affiliates’ web pages that are hosted by us. For example, we collect your IP address, web browser software, and referring website. To help us analyze the usage of our websites and related services, and to send more relevant communications to you, we also collect and keep track of your online activity, such as content viewed, pages visited, and searches and/or reservations facilitated or made.

Location Information and Other Information from Devices: When you use an Application on a mobile device, we will collect and use information about you in generally similar ways and for similar purposes as when you use the Takeourtours website. In addition, we may collect information about your location with your consent if your Device has been configured to send such information to the Application via the privacy settings on that Device, or if you have uploaded photos tagged with location information. For example, we may use your location to show you tours or excursions near you when you are travelling. You can change the privacy settings of your Device at any time in order to turn off the functionality to share location information with the Application and/or the functionality to tag your photos with location information. Please note that turning off location sharing may affect certain features of our Application. If you have any queries about the privacy settings of your Device, we suggest you contact the manufacturer of your Device or your mobile service provider for help.

3. How we use your personal data

We use the personal data that we collect about you only for specific purposes. This includes, but is not limited to: offer our services to you; manage your registration and account, including your access to and use of our website and to publish your reviews, ratings and photos; communicate with you about your account or use of our site and services; respond to, or follow up on, your comments and questions, and otherwise provide customer service; notify you about changes to our terms or privacy policy; ask you to leave a review or take a survey; operate and improve our site and services; personalize your experience on our site; measure interest in and improve our site and services; notify you about promotions and special offers; let you partake in a prize draw, competition or complete a survey; protect, investigate and deter against fraudulent, unauthorized or illegal activity; administer and protect our business; and resolve disputes or troubleshoot problems.

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:

Server data
For technical reasons, the following data sent by your internet browser to us or to our server provider will be collected, especially to ensure a secure and stable website: browser type/version, operating system, referrer URL, pages visited, date/time of visit, and IP address. This is temporarily stored (not associated with other data) on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for security, stability, and functionality, and is deleted within seven days unless needed for evidentiary purposes.

Marketing
We may send you marketing emails about Takeourtours deals, destination and product news, offers, competitions, and promotions. You will receive marketing messages if you consented, requested them, or purchased from us and have not opted out. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails. We will still send transactional and service emails (e.g., booking confirmations, policy updates).

4. With whom we share your personal data

We may store the contributions and submissions you make to Takeourtours, including but not limited to your reviews, photos, public profile and ratings (your “Content”), publicly display your Content on our websites and Applications and those of our affiliate partners and distributors, display it to other users, share it with our affiliate partners and distributors, and use it for promotional purposes. If you include personal data in your Content, it can be used and viewed by others.

Takeourtours may share your personal data with other parties, including group companies and third parties, such as service providers working on our behalf. If we sell or divest our business or any part of it (or merge), we will share your personal data with the new owner or merger partner. We may share personal data to comply with legal obligations, protect our customers, site, company, rights and property.

Social Media Services: If you connect to Takeourtours using Facebook (or other services), we may show you content your friends have posted, and your friends may share data with us through those services. Your use of social media features is governed by each platform’s privacy policy.

Service Providers: Some personal data is shared with providers (e.g., guides) directly involved in fulfilling purchases you made from us (e.g., hotel name for pick-ups, local/ mobile number, email address).

Third-Party Vendors: We share data with vendors providing analytics, payment processing, customer service, marketing, PR, surveys/sweepstakes, and fraud prevention. Vendors access data only as needed to perform their functions and may not use it for other purposes.

5. How long will we retain your personal data

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes collected, including legal, accounting, or reporting requirements. We consider amount, nature, sensitivity, risk, purposes, and legal requirements in determining retention. Customer/personal data will not be stored for more than 3 years unless required otherwise by law or for legitimate interests (e.g., disputes, fraud prevention).

Contact privacy@takeourtours.com to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing, request data portability, change marketing preferences, or close your account. If you close your account, we will deactivate it and remove profile information and reviews from view (we’ll email to confirm). Some legal obligations may require limited retention.

We may need information to verify your identity and right to access. Requests are free unless unfounded, repetitive, or excessive. We aim to respond within one month (and may extend up to two months where permitted).

If you saved payment details on Takeourtours, you can add/delete/modify them in your account settings (if available).

8. How we protect your personal data

We maintain appropriate physical, administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access, disclosure, loss, alteration, or destruction. While we strive for security, no method is 100% secure. Please notify us of any suspected security incidents.

9. Information concerning minors

Takeourtours is a general audience site and does not offer services directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data relating to minors. If a child under 16 sends personal data to us, we will delete it as soon as reasonably possible.

Mediavine Programmatic Advertising (Ver 1.1)

The Website works with Mediavine to manage third-party interest-based advertising. Mediavine may use first- and third-party cookies and similar technologies (“Tags”) to monitor interactions and provide targeted advertising. You can block cookies via your browser; see your browser help menu. Without cookies, some features may be limited. Rejecting cookies does not remove ads; it limits personalization.

Data collected via cookie for personalized ads may include: IP Address, OS type/version, Device Type, Site language, Browser type, Email (hashed). Mediavine Partners may combine this with other information for interest-based advertising across devices/browsers/apps and may create audience segments.

This section explains additional practices when you create/use a Takeourtours Account.

1. Information Takeourtours collects

We collect information to provide and improve our services—ranging from language preferences to content you might like. When you’re not signed in, data is tied to device/browser identifiers. When signed in, we associate data with your account (treated as personal information).

2. Things you create or provide to us with an account

If you create a Takeourtours Account, you provide personal information (e.g., name, password, optionally phone or payment info). You may also provide content (e.g., messages, uploads, comments).

3. Information we collect as you use our services

Apps, browsers & devices: We collect identifiers, browser/device settings, OS, network info, app versions, IP address, crash reports, system activity, date/time/referrer.
Your activity: Searches, pages viewed, interactions with content/ads, purchase activity, and sharing activity.
