When is the best time to book?
The best time to book is for the first days of your visit—many guests say they wish they had joined earlier! Our tours include helpful tips that can really enhance the rest of your stay.

Can I change, reschedule, or cancel my booking?
To cancel, please send us an email at contact@takeourtours.com.
To change or reschedule, simply book a new time directly on the tour page.
Reservation
Do I have to make a reservation?
Walk-ins are welcome, but large groups (8+) should book ahead.
What happens after I book?
After booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email with details about the meeting point, start time, and some helpful reminders. In Paris, Take our Tours partners with Discover Walks, so you’ll join their tour, guided by the same knowledgeable locals in our signature pink jackets!
How much should I tip?
We let guests decide! Other tours charge €20+, but we believe in letting you value the experience. Our guides rely entirely on tips for their compensation. A €20 tip tells me I exceeded expectations, €15 means I did great, and €10 suggests I should step it up next time.
Why are our tours free?
We’re independent guides who rely on tips. About half of what we earn covers marketing; the rest is our income. It’s not about getting rich—it’s about doing what we love!
I’m at the meeting point and many people told me they booked with Discover Walks – am I at the wrong meeting point?
In Paris, Take our Tours partners with Discover Walks. You’ll join their tour, guided by the same knowledgeable locals in our signature pink jackets!

When should I arrive?
Tours start on time! Arriving 5-10 minutes early lets you meet the guide and other guests.
How long do tours last?
Typically 90 minutes, but time flies!
Do you go inside landmarks?
No, we focus on the city’s atmosphere and architecture. The best stories are often told from the outside!
Do tours run in all weather?
Yes! Some of our most memorable tours happened in the rain, with the city all to ourselves.
I am not much of a walker, how fit do I need to be?
Not at all! Most of our tours are easy walks. Wheelchair users should check accessibility details on our tour pages.
What languages are your tours offered in?
Our tours are offered in English. Let us know if you need recommendations for other languages!
Are our tours stroller or wheelchair-friendly?
No—our standard free walking tours aren’t fully stroller- or wheelchair-friendly.
